  • MaterialA homogenous glass and carbon reinforced composite which is colorfast and UV stable. The color of the tile is colored throughout and does not contain any type of paint coating to acieve the color.
  • Dome GeometryIn accordance with ADA Regulations for Detaectanle Warnings on Curb Ramps raised truncated domes with a diameter of nominal 0.9in, and height of 0.2in and center to center spacing of 1.6in minimum and 2.4in maximum.
  • FinishADA’s matte finish minimizes the potential for glare at low sun angles when compared to products with a glossy finish. ADA’s matte finish is perceived as more slip resistant than products with a glossy finish - even in the dry state.
  • MaintinanceADA’s products are virtually impervious to absorption (especially when compared to epoxy based composite materials). ADA’s products are not affected by chemicals (including those used for snow removal operations) and are easy to clean. Over the long term, ADA’s product performs well when subjected to snow removal operations.
  • Wear ResistanceADA’s state of the art composite formulation provides wear resistance properties far superior to that achieved with concrete based materials of any type. ADA’s material formulation will conform to underlying substrates and was selected to eliminate the hairline cracking observed in epoxy based composite materials.
  • Panel DimensionsTiles are available in various sizes and may be cut to size to fit. Ideal for retro fit applications. All four edges have a 1/2in beveled edge. The panels have pre-formed fastener locations. Installatioon fasteners included.
  • Installation

Be sure to read & understand all of these instructions before you begin.

    A. The installation area should be cleaned of all debris, oil, grease, and laitance; and that the area is completely free of moisture. New Construction: GC should create a ¼" deep recess as part of the concrete pour. Existing Construction: Tile may be surface mounted on existing curb ramp with no surface preparation.

    B. Lay out the tiles on the substrate as they will appear when installed. f required, the tile may be cut using a table saw and carbide tipped blade.

    C. Place a " bead of adhesive on the frame of the bottom of each tile. Each 30 oz. tube should yield approximately 16 square feet of coverage.

    D. Set the tile in the installation area. Make all necessary adjustments prior to fastening.

    E.  Fasteners shall be installed in pre-formed fastener locations. Holes shall be drilled using a hammer drill with ¼" x 2" min SDS bits. The drilled holes must be a minimum of 1½" deep. Place fasteners in hole and hammer into place. If additional fasteners are required, use a ½", six point, 82 degree countersink to add a new fastener location. Follow same drilling method for installing the fastener.

    F. Caulk around perimeter of entire installation using Sonneborn NP1 or equivalent. All concrete dust present on the tile from the drilling process must be cleaned off of the tile face prior to using any caulking materials.

    G. Following completion of the installation, all surfaces of the work shall be cleaned to the satisfaction of the Engineer/Owner.
