The Reed R458 makes 45? flaring of soft and hard tubing easy. The tool includes an eccentric cone design that rolls out only a portion of the tubing at a time as it swivels around. This, plus bearings throughout, makes flaring less strenuous and allows work even with stainless steel tubing up to .035? wall thickness. Reed also built in a clutch mechanism that stops flaring at the proper time, preventing damage to the tubing and allowing burnishing for a smooth, even flare. Capacity is 1/8? to 3/4?.
