Excellent for in-trench or aboveground cutting, requiring only 6in - 8in clearance around PVC or PE pipe. Outboard rollers keep cutter aligned on pipe to insure a square cut. Cutter can also simultaneously produce a 15? bevel on both sides of cut. Long lasting, carbide-tipped blades penetrate up to 2in wall thickness. Includes both bevel and cutting blades. Reed has developed a new blade designed to cut PE pipe with the Reed PLAS. The curved blade drives chips out of the way, making PE cuts much easier. Regular PLAS cutters can be retrofitted for PE by purchasing the new blade (#94485) separately. Proprietary tool cuts square on even the largest plastic pipe: 28in (800 mm). PLAS large diameter plastic pipe cutter will cut PVC and PE Pipe. For best results on PE, choose the NEW PE PLAS models. Specific limitations for PE are as follows: 2in wall thickness PE - up to 14in pipe, 1 1/2in wall thickness PE - up to 18in pipe, 1in wall thickness PE - up to 28in pipe.
