Only Reed solid block dies have wide throats and extra-fine threads that actually pull the die onto the pipe even if the burr is large. Dies are available in both NPT and BSPT threads. Only Reed has two chasers to cut and two chasers to guide the threads. Reed chasers are cast in place in the foundry operation and are then machined as a unit (not bolted in place) for perfect alignment. Lower cost and less weight are two more good reasons to use Reed dies. Use Reed Threadguard cutting oil for better and faster threads and longer die life.
