I bought this today on sale at Home Depot (good price, clearance at $259). I also returned it today, without ever using it, based on a warning buried in the manual.
Here's why: After you start the gas engine, you have only 2 minutes to start spraying, or the pump overheats and burns out. Same if you stop spraying in the middle of a job - better spray some more in less than 2 minutes or turn the gas engine off. Even if this were practical, which I kind of doubt, there's no way that I will remember this restriction next year or the one after.
This is a critical problem, as everyone seems to agree that the weak link in these low-end gas washers is the pump.
Lowes has a Troy Bilt for $319, and in the manual for that they note that there is a bypass valve on the pump so that when the water gets too hot it discharges it on the ground so that colder water can flow into the pump. Makes sense.
There are other annoyances on this washer - the wand uses a non-standard 'Gatling' tip. Even the low end Husky at Home Depot (for $299) uses the standard tips that can be found on most pressure washers.
Also, it doesn't include a detergent tank. This is a nit, I agree.
In general, this washer has lots more plastic than the Husky and Troy-Bilt. What's behind that plastic - I don't know - but it doesn't instill confidence.
There are better washers, stay away from this one.
